i am having the worst time with kickline... i know the technique well... but i get tired easily and when i get tired i drag my kicks and it looks horrible, and to add to that my pplacement is right on center so the judges at comp. will be looking at me the most... is there any tips you can give me for this or any way to just get my kicks really good. Thanks. 4 Replies to kIcKlInE, Oh my gosh.... |

You probably need to increase your stamina. Some ways you can do this is by swimming, riding your bike, jumping on a trampoline, jogging, etc. Also, the more often you practice your routine, the easier it will get and the less tired you will be because your body will get used to that level of exercise. The Strengthening board might have some good tips too, as far as builiding leg muscle to keep your legs up. |

yeah, I agree with High_kick_qt---Jogging is really good for you, and it'll help you a ton with your high kicks.
I'd know...I used to have the same problem as you! |

We do "endurance" kicks on tuesdays before practice every week. 50 highkicks all together. If people are slacking or people get off beat we do more until coach is happy. Then we rehearse the routine a lot as well (several times over with only enough time inbetween to reset formations)
but you can easily do this by yourself. the more highkicks you do in a row at home, the easier it will get to do them in a routine. |

Time how long you can highkick without feeling sick and overly weak. Each week before comp. try to add 10-20 seconds onto your time. Try stairstepping and jogging, it really helped me |
