I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the concept of the rise and fall in the Waltz... how much knee action is really involved in it... on the TV shows they all criticize the dancers for not having enough knee bending action.. or they ask for a more deep movement.. yet in practice this seems to be awkward and very unnatural... any suggestions... Thanks Pirate Smith

The rise and fall shouldent look forced so overdoing it would look stupid, however not doing any makes your dance look flat. When i'm doing it it usualy comes very natural as i have been doing it for years. You need to get the right balance between the two. It may seem akward at first but im sure with some practice you should get the hang of it.
