Greetings everyone! This is your formal invitation to the social event of the year. ‘Night at the Oscars’ is presented to you by Balletblonide08 and the Arabesque dorm, consists of a glamorous night out at the Vegas city Hotel. We will start with a parade up the red carpet, complete with media. Then we move inside to the dining room for a huge formal dinner. Afterwards we will follow up with an honours ceremony, followed by a dance. Everyone at the VIS is welcome, and you are encouraged to bring friends from outside the VIS. (i.e members of dance.net who do not belong to the VIS). So don’t be afraid to dress up just like your favorite celebrity, and be prepared to have lots of fun! The event will be held at the Vegas City Hotel and Conference center (posted in the main VIS forum) on the 31st of February.

Awards ceremony: in the past we have had problems with these turning into popularity contests, and people have complained. So this time it is going to be an honours ceremony. First we will honour the people who helped me organise this. Then we will honour the presidents and committees of each dorm. Then the presidents of the departments. Lastly we will honour all active VIS members. To decide on these, you need to post your name and dorm in the post in the VIS. Hope to see you all there.

Oh, and as we have had at previous dances, etc, during the time of the dance please post your dresses as your avatars. NOTE: please do not flood your dorms with pictures of the dresses, we will see them on the night of the dance!
