A new year is fast approaching us in the VIS Ballet Department, and classes are starting up soon, but, like each year, we need new students and teachers!
This year, the teachers will not be picked as a first come first serve basis. Problems arose from this arrangement last year, and wish for this to not happen again. This year, teacher sign ups will be up for approximately 3 weeks, therefore, from July 22th, 2007 until August 15th, 2007.
After reading all applications I will then choose who will be teaching what class. This year, I am hoping to have one person per class, because classes are very time consuming to write, and I believe people will stay on task if they do not have millions of classes to write.
Currently, I am in my last year of high school, and looking for a secretary for the Ballet Department. This job will consist of posting threads to advertise the Ballet Department, and helping me send out personal messages because they are extremely time consuming when you have 60 people. If you are interested, please do not reply to this thread, just PM me.
Classes this year will be as followed:
Stretching and Conditioning for Ballet
Barre Work
Beginners Ballet
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet
Pre-pointe Ballet
Beginner Pointe
Intermediate/Advanced Ballet
Performance Group
The Complete Guide to the Ballet Department
General Rules
1. All classes that you have signed up for must be attended on a bi-weekly basis, meaning every two weeks.
2. In order to show attendance, please reply to the class and say thank you. Teachers work hard to create these classes, and it is highly appreciated that you thank them and show gratitude.
3. You may give karma if you wish.
4. If you have questions regarding the classes, simply PM the teacher and they will do their best to help you.
5. Please do not sign up if you know you cannot attend 90% of classes.
6. Do not reply to old classes. The following format is used to every class:
Name of Class – Class Number – Date (mm/dd/yyyy)
So, for example, beginner ballet class, this is what the title of the thread would say:
Beginner Ballet – 1 – 09/25/2007
What is the Ballet Department and how does it work?
The Ballet Department is a virtual ballet school. Classes are written up every two weeks by designated teachers throughout the year, and students whom have signed up for that particular class reply to the class. The purpose of these classes is for extra practice throughout the week. Please do not use these classes to teach yourself ballet. This could lead to serious injury.
How do I join?
Simply sign up for the classes in the Official Student Sign Ups. At this point, teachers have been chosen, therefore, you need to wait until next year, or until a teacher is no longer able to teach the classes.
Who teaches what classes?
This will be updated once teachers have been chosen.
What happens if I cannot attend a class or can no longer attend any classes?
If you cannot attend a class for a certain amount of time, please PM the teacher. If you can no longer take classes here in the Ballet Department, please PM myself, and I will inform the teachers.
I have a question, suggesting or concern regarding the Ballet Department
If you still have questions regarding the ballet department, please PM me and I will answer it to the best of my ability.
Thank you for joining the Ballet Department! I hope you enjoy your time here! 4 Replies to Rules for the Ballet Department -2007/2008: An Official Guide for All Students |
