Teacher Sign Ups!
Please visit the sticky entitled, Rules for the Ballet Department -2007/2008: An Official Guide for All Students, This is where you will find everything you need to know about the new year!
This year, teachers will not be chosen on a first come first serve basis. Please, fill out the following information if you wish to teach classes during the 2007/2008 year.
One teacher per class will be chosen, therefore, there will be a total of 8 teachers. If no one is willing to teach a certain class, the class will be cancelled. If, for some reason, you cannot teach one class a certain month, please PM me and I will try and teach it. Please do not rely on me to teach all your classes. If you can no longer teach a class because of a legitimate reason, I will find another person to teach it for you.
Future teachers, you have THREE weeks to sign up. The sign ups will be up from July 22th, 2007 until August 15th, 2007. Applications will be declined after this date.
After all teacher applications have been reviewed, I will PM you to ask a couple of questions such as your school workload ect. to see if you are a good candidate for teaching.
Thank you for willing to teach classes here in the Ballet Department!

does Inter-advanced class include pointe?? Is there any way this can just be a class with out the pointe and a separate class for pointe. Because I havent been doing pointe for so long, but I have been doing ballet for 11 years, so, yeah. I would appreciate it.

I think that the Inter-Advance Ballet class is separate from Inter-Advance Pointe. I saw it in the list that they're two separate classes. |

I guess I'll just give a brief list of some training/accomplishments in ballet that should show my qualifications.
I have trained at SAB on and off (left on good terms both times, not kicked out for bad technique) and when I'm not there I take mainly from retired NYCB dancers. Therefore my technique is Balanchine, although I have been taught by a former ABT dancer as well as someone from the Danish school so I have a bit of experience with other styles. I have a pretty good classical music collection so maybe a couple times (winter holidays maybe) I could give a class with downloadable music. I have attended NYSSSA, Ballet Regent, and SSDI ballet intensives, all of which are associated closely with NYCB. I have also performed with NYCB (at the moment I am writing this, I just got back from participating in a showcase class for the public). I have been paid for teaching, and choreographing (for recreational/competitive studios, at my age I obviously won't get paid work for a professional show) and teach some makeup or warmup classes (students 12-18) and I've occasionally been permitted to help rehearse children for NYCB roles in Balanchine ballets. I love writing combinations (sometimes if I should be paying attention in school) but I don't have time in classes to use them all so I would love to share with VIS. |

Comments? Here's my bio:
Triskit's formal dance training began in Canada where she attended several professional ballet schools on scholarship. While a student she completed advanced level ballet exams in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing - Cecchetti syllabus and the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, she also had the opportunity to study the Vaganova and Bournonville techniques from master teachers in these styles. In addition to these styles of ballet Triskit trained in Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, Character dance and Musical Theatre. Professionally Triskit has had the opportunity of working with a number of companies in Canada and the US. In addition she has performed extensively as a freelance artist and branched out into other venues working in several industrials, music videos and musicals. Stateside Triskit has worked in Washington, Oregon, Utah, California and New York as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. Her choreography has won numerous awards including invitations to work in London, Finland and Italy. Triskit attended College, on full scholarship, where she majored in Dance with a dual emphasis in Ballet and Modern. Triskit has also taken specialized courses in Pedagogy (the art of teaching classical ballet). Outside of dance, Triskit is certified in Yoga and Pilates and is also a Licensed Massage Therapist.
p.s. I thought it might be fun to do video classes. We could make a youtube account for the ballet department at DDN and post videos of the classes? |
