Alright, I about had enough of this junk.

First off, you are not the head of VIS. I bet you 10$ that you don't even know how to run VIS. You are a new member, who thinks that they can change everything around.

Second of all, VIS is NOT ACTIVE during the summer months. VIS get's active again during the school year.

Oranges is not currently active, I think she has gone on vacation. This does not give you athority to come onto here and post mindless posts. You did not ask me, or any other head of a department first. You do not know how to run this place, so why are you trying?

Oranges is Head of VIS. Meaning SHE IS IN CHARGE. Would you like me to write that bigger?

Now, enough with the millions of posts confusing all members of VIS and enough with the nonesense. Why not first check with EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE authority before posting millions of posts that don't coincide with the way VIS is run.

Thanks pinkandpistachio and yes as she said we HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO HELP WITH VIS! You are also not the only person on VIS, and i personally think it is a bit strange how VIS does not run in the summer as it isnt even summer where i live so i think it should run all the time ! You dont need to make out like you are the best as you are not and i am not taking any of your nonsense so stop wasting your time telling me what to do and just get on with your life! Oh and pink and pistachio thanks for the chocolates they are delicious! I have sent your chocolates to luthien

I'd be inclined to let this thread stay. A gentle "this isn't really the way things are done" is all that was neccessary, but an out there 'do not post, you can't post, I bet $10 you don't know what's going on' is way, way out of line. A bit more tact next time might be an idea.

I have to agree with glitterfairy here. A simple "sorry, but we have a head of VIS, things already have an order in which they are run, but if you'd like to help, that'd be great" would have done much better than "YOU DON'T KNOW SQUAT ABOUT VIS SO STOP TRYING TO TAKE OVER EVERYTHING."

If Oranges had chosen not to be head of VIS anymore, however, I do believe the position should be given to someone with a little more DDN experience rather than someone who's been a member for a couple of months. So in Justine's defense I must say to Nicole that she is right in a way, you are still extremely new to DDN and judging by what you have tried to accomplish so far, you don't really know the ropes all that well yet. This is not a bad thing; all of us were new at some point. I am fairly new to the VIS section of DDN, but I have read enough of the old posts to know what's up, and I am pretty familiar with most of the people here that are regularly active, whether I talk to them personally or not.

And Pink, you were a bit out of line as well with your "excuse me but we have permission to run VIS." You may have SOME permission to HELP with VIS, but you certainly did not get permission from the actual HEAD of the entire VIS portion of DDN [Oranges] and therefore really cannot do as you please with VIS. I clearly remember reading posts where Cadbury made the two of you HELPERS.

I must also admit that I was a bit confused by some of the threads...I signed up to be head of the jazz department, and according to Nicole, I am now head of it. But I am not going to believe that I am until I hear it from Oranges, as she is still the actual head of VIS and I do not want to cross anyone, make enemies, and wind up not being a part of VIS at all.

So Justine, if you read my post in the jazz department, please disregard it. I am NOT head of jazz department, although I think it would be wonderful if I were, but I'm not going to push it, lol.


Anyway. Everyone needs to chill out and take a look at the facts. pinkandpistachio and Nicole, you are both really new to DDN altogether, and you do seem like you're jumping the gun with VIS. It's great that you want to be a part of it, but that really doesn't give you the right to assume you can run the show when you haven't even been in contact with the actual head.
Justine, your reply was a bit unnecessarily mean, although you do make some valid points. I know things like this can be extremely annoying- I'm a little annoyed myself- but yelling at her was clearly not a good idea.



Hopefully I have made everyone think a little bit, and hopefully no one hates me for trying to be the mediator here. :/

i'm sorry. you're right. we're not officially the heads, nor do we think we are. we haven't been able to contact oranges, though we're desparately trying to. i have, however, been in close contact with luthien and she told me we could get this place off the ground until the heads come back, if they do. i was just a litle frustrated. we're working very hard to make vis a better place and get everyone active again. justine, if you think you're more qualified for the job than perfectattitude or I, you can definately take over. but don't bash all the good we're trying to do and just sit there and do nothing.

^Exacly, you were not given permission from Oranges to run the place ie. become head of VIS. To become head of VIS, you must be able to run it, and know how it functioned.

The reason why I said what I said was because of your lack of preperation and you didn't even contact any other head of departments or dorms. You just decided to place sign ups when there were already sign ups. Also, VIS is not active during summer months because most members are in school, and they are very busy over the summer.

Taking things off the ground does not equal trying to a)run the place and b)think that you guys can do all that you want. You probably confused so many members with you lack of organization and many different threads.

I dont know why everyone is getting really worked up because all this post is is a chocolate shop, its not the sign ups or anything?! Also i agree with what pinkndpistachio said. Also i am not new to dance net i have been coming on here for about 2-3 years but have only just got a membership, and a premium membership. And the reason i didnt get a membership until resently was because i didnt really think i needed one untill i really wanted to participate. So i know what VIS and dance net is all about, im not saying i should be head etc im just letting you know that i know whats happening on dance net etc. Also guys i am sorry if it seemed like me a pink were trying to run VIS as we werent, we were just trying to help get it back up an running.

Well, for one thing, if you really knew what was up with VIS, you would have known that Oranges is still in charge, and would not have gone so far into taking control of VIS without her permission. I know that maybe you haven't been able to contact her, and that Luthien told you you could help, but she certainly didn't tell you that you could make all these new sign ups and add new features- like the chocolate shop. In order to do that you must either be the head or have the official head's permission- neither of which you have.




Maybe if the two of you hadn't jumped into controlling VIS so quickly and been more organized [these new threads are bouncing around everywhere, and they are honestly quite confusing, especially with the threads that already existed in the first place] you wouldn't have gotten yelled at by Justine. Even though her response was a little over the top, I can understand her frustration.


I think you should go through and lock every thread you've created, especially those that are repeats of other threads, and let Oranges decide what to do. It seems like the right and polite thing to do, since you guys just sort of came in and took over without Oranges' permission. Again, don't tell me "I tried contacting Oranges and couldn't get ahold of her!" I KNOW. That's why you should have waited until you could contact her.

Yes, I agree with you 100% percent. No offense to anyone, but I would never be able to trust a new member because I wouldn't know them as well as others. IF we were to get a new president, it would probably be a well-known member. Someone who has been around long enough for us to trust.

Luthien is a great example of a well-known member who you can trust. Although, here's some advice I would like to give you: Know everyone who is in charge so you'll know who you can contact. I feel very left out because no one ever said one word to me about this whole issue.

So you've been on DDN for 2-3 years, that's dandy. BUT, there are more experienced members who have been active on DDN longer. For example, me, Oranges, KangarooPaw, and JustineTurini.

I forgive you. *hugs* Just make sure you get permission to start something new on VIS before you do it. Oranges and I need to know what's going on at all times.
