I have been contacted by a local private charter type school about teaching creative movement to their preschool and kindergarten children.
I am meeting with them Thursday.
So some questions...
How do you charge a school since it is part of their curriculm- they are not charging parents extra. So I guess I need a set fee right? (it is a 20 min ride- so should I take that into account?)
Do you do a certain number of weeks? Or school year till June?

I have my resume, and references etc... what else should I bring with me? I was trying to get some of my lessons together, my "props" I planned to bring (instruments, parachute, ribbons, bean bags etc...)

It just seems school is so different. Let me know any advice you can offer!
Thank you!

I've been paid by the hour as high as $90.00 and as low as $50.00.

I have also been an "outside presenter" where parents were offered the class at a discount, but the parents had to pay for it separately. That one I ran as in 8 week sessions and the preschool instisted that I offer the class at half of what I would have charged holding the class at my studio. Hmmm had to bring everthing to the preschool, and get paid less...

I was particularly frusted by the preschool that I agreed to teach the class for $50.00 per hour. When I calculated how many kids I saw every month (class was only once a month in this case) I would have been compensated $1,250.00 per month if I was being paid "per student". But instead received $250.00. However, I did get a bunch of students enroll at the studio from this preschool...so I guess in some way my efforts have been rewarded!
