I´m hoping someone can have information for me. I teach RAD syllabus in classical ballet and ISTD in modern as a substitute in a dance school and creative dance/pre-ballet to pre-schoollers. I applied for teacher certification for RAD distance learning program (I'm portuguese) but will only enter in 2010. I'm thinking in taking the pre-associate and associate examination of the IDTA and I don't know how to do it. I've contacted IDTA and I'm waiting for an information pack. I'm 31 and I don´t have to take IDTA's intermediate, I've been told. I hold former level III from RAD in classical ballet and intermediate in modern dance from ISTD. Are these qualifications enough to enroll in the program? Can I study the work by myself and have a tutor online for my doubts? And then I could travel to London to take my examination? But then where would I take my examination? I have to make a registration in a school or do they have headquarters where a can take the examinations? Was hoping someone would information on this. It’s making me feel very uncomfortable to be teaching full time and not having a formal teaching certification. Don´t get me wrong I have studied with my teacher anatomy and child development, along with syllabus and all the classroom practical work, but I feel I’m missing a ‘diploma’. Sorry for grammar mistakes. |
