Remember BEFORE class:
- Suck in your stomach muscles. This will make yourself be able to balance more, and be taller.
- Support your arms and remember to keep them energized.
- You must always keep your hamstring muscles and thighs tight.
- Do NOT lose alignment, especially when doing tendues to the back.
- In plies, make sure your back is straight and you are not sitting in your hips.
- DO THE BEST YOU POSSIBLY CAN.
1. Demi plie in first, second, fourth and fifth position. Arms should be in first to be prepare, then raise to fourth, then finally, second. The excercise:
- Demi plie (This should only take four counts)
- Stretch (Same as the demi plie, it should only take 4 counts)
- Demi plie (Four counts)
- Stretch (Four counts)
Repeat on other side.
2. Grande plie. Arms should be in first in preparation, then raise to fourth, then to second. Exercise:
-1st position.
-Grande plie ( Keep the plies at two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
-Grande plie (two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
- 2nd position.
-Grande plie (two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
-Grande plie (two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
- 5th position.
-Grande plie (two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
-Grande plie (two counts)
-Stretch (two counts)
When done, repeat on other side.
3. Ronde de Jambe. Arms should be in second. Exercise should be done as follows:
- 1st position: Slide your leg into tendu devant (one count) and one count to do the ronde de jambe.
- Each complete ronde de jambe en dehors will take 2 counts.
- Repeat with the ronde de jambe en dedan. (Do Four in a row, alternating from en dehors, and en dedan.)
-After finished, bend your supporting leg into plie, then repeat the ronde de jambes.
Once completed, repeat on other side.
4. Releve’s. Arms in first position. Exercise should be done as follows:
- 1st position: (Eight rises) It should take 1 count for each rise.
- 2nd position: (Same as First)
- 4th position: (Same as 2nd and First)
-5th position: (Same as 2nd, First, and Fourth.)
After last releve in Fifth, lower, and then rise and balance.
Repeat on other side.
