Colour gaurd? What is this?

Hi I'm from yorkshire, England.

I don't have a clue what colour gaurd is but would love if someone explained it? and do they do it in the UK?

Most places that have a marching band have color guard, although my last school didn't :( Color guard is flag, rifel and sabre work with a mixture of different types of dance, like lyrical and jazz.

I honestly have no idea if they have colorguard in the uk..i assume they do though. But its basically spinning flag, rifle, sabre, and dancing. Sometimes other props are used. If you'd like to see a video, here's a link of my bands colorguard show this year.

^ dancinchyk you go to Carmel??? I remember a few years back your band came to St Louis and practiced at Parkway Central which was my high school! Thats awesome!

There are a few guards in the UK, but not many. I also know of a few in Japan and Korea. But it's mostly a US activity. Oh, and Canada has a few good guards too.

This has nothing to do with this post but danzinchyk, I know one of your instructors! Small world...I was in center grove in hs but I graduated 2 years ago...I haven't seen anyone else from indiana on here before.

Color Guard is a sport that represents music visually... we are the visual music in any show... your work will represent the music... you make lots of great friends... it is also really fun... and yes they have it in the U.K.
