i think its disgusting that around 60% of "football fans" support either man utd, chelsea, arsenal or liverpool

supporting a football team is somthing you should be proud of travilling throughout the country with them everywhere they go you go. like me im and ipswich fan and go to evreysingle macth i hate all the people who say "ohhh i support man utd" even tho they have never even been to see them then there repley is "its to far away" WELL SUPPORT A PROPER FOOTBALL TEAM THEN YOUR LOCAL sorry but this annoys me

Im a man u fan and have been a few times to watch matches and even when i havent been able to get tickets me and my uncle have gone up to see if we can get some there.
But I also support wrexham which is ma local team.

Wow, as an American, things are totally different. It's geographically too large to go see "your team" wherever they go, and even if you live close enough to the home games, they're intensely expensive (we're talking American football here), so most fans will treat themselves to a game or two once and a while, but most stay home and watch the games on TV.

College football is cheaper, but it can be even harder to travel to those games, especially if you're still a student. Home games are easy enough, as the stadium's right on campus, but away games require driving hours and hours or purchasing an expensive airplane ticket, plus food, plus lodging, plus game tickets. I know a lot of students like to go to an away game once or twice in their college years just for the fun of it, but it's definitely not common. It doesn't mean we don't support our teams, it just means our country is too spread out to see all the games.

Don't even know why I'm replying to this, I just thought it was interesting. I guess if you do live in such a compact space (comparatively speaking, that is), seeing your team in the stadium is more practical.

So you're telling me even if you live somewhere that's a 24 hour plane ride to England, isn't a real football fan because they don't travel wherever they go? That's so silly! And what's it to you if more people support these teams? I mean no matter what sport tehre will always be a team that's more universally popular.
