Hi. For the studio I go to, our recial theme is "Changing Colors". We are doing songs related to color and then dressing in that color. We also have a dancer showcase, where we make our own solo dance and audition. Whoever wins the audition, gets to do their dance in the recital. Well, I need help thinking of some songs that have to do with color. If you could please list the song name and artist. That would be sweeeeeet:))) Thanks.

-anything by the band Yellowcard (they have a song called "How I Go" that might be good to dance to, another one called "Three Flights Up" which could also be good)

-"Fields of Gold" by Sting
-"Brown Eyed Girl"
-"Welcome To The Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance
-anything by Indigo Girls ("Gallileo" [sp?] is one of my favorites by them)
-"Back To Black" by Amy Winehouse
-"All Black" by Good Charlotte
-"The World Is Black" by Good Charlotte
-anything by Green Day
-"Golden" by Fall Out Boy
-"Red Hot Moon" by Rancid

Edited by Amidala (192531) on 2008-03-07 23:25:13 remembered a song! whoop!
If artists count, anything by the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

Oh, and for Plain White T's, Radios In Heaven would be a really pretty lyrical dance.

Blackbird - The Beatles
Yellow Submarine - The Beatles
A Lack of Color - Death Cab For Cutie (lol, it's kind of about color, or lack thereof)
Red High Heels - Kellie Pickler (this one would be fun)
Compliment Each Other Like Colors - PlayRadioPlay!
Where the Colors Don't Go - Sam Phillips (also about non color...lol)

Eh, I'll find some more later. I know I have some!

Edit: Poses by Rufus Wainwright is a good one too, it's a pretty song and it mentions colors a few times in the lyrics.

Oh wow! I love that idea as a recial theme! Ours is So You Think You Can Dance? And jazz levels III and IV are doing an opening number, The Top 14 Dancers Of America, or something like that. I like it, except for I'm only jazz II, so I'm not in it! Sorry I don't have any song idea, but I think the theme is cool times ten!

Black Balloon- Goo Goo Dolls
Black Roses Red- Alana Grace
Counting Blue Cars- Dishwalla
Strawberry Fields Forever- The Beatles or from Across the Universe
Black Hole Sun- Soundgarden

Okay, some of those might be weird for a dance, but I just pulled all of the songs with color from my iTunes. I hope I helped a little! ;)

I, like alwaysonmytoes, am just pulling songs from my iTunes, so some of these might not quite work, but it's what I've got!

Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine by Simon and Garfunkel

Somewhere Over the Rainbow (there are several versions, the original from the Wizard of Oz, one by Marina McBride, a Hawaiian version but I don't know who it's by, and I'm sure there are many others)

Anything from the musical The Color Purple

Rainbows of Color by Grooverider (I think?)

just google something about songs with color. Or go to playlist.com and look it up there, you should find something
