I have only been skating a few years now, but I got my new skates-SP Teri--having a hard time breaking them in, but it's getting better. I hate the nylon sock things they recommended at the store. I was wondering for those of you that dont wear tights-(all my tights are footless from ballet and I don't want to purchase more-I am an adult, so I am not wearing skirts or anything). I prefer a really think sock-because it's softer, but I also found some dance socks by capezio that I like. What do you recommend? I know it has to be thin because that is what the fitter said was best. 2 Replies to visiting from the ballet forums question about socks/tights |

Go with the thinner sock...unless you were fitted with the thick sock.
Having a thin one allows the air to circulate a little easier around your foot and hopefully keeps it warmer. But it all is a matter of preference. So test out both and see which makes you feel more comfortable!
So glad to hear that you took up skating! Have fun |

Just go with the thin sock as you will have had your boot fittedd for tights or thin sock not a thick sock
You do not want your feet to hurt as they are too tight with a thick one
