Unmasked by Odessa (22571) on 2008-04-02 05:08:17 derr. because I am a n00b and forgot it was April Fools Day.

Who watched it last night?

Anyone that impressed you? Anyone that made you laugh??

I thought the uh, glamour model, was particuarly humorous...

My favourite, was the 15 year old boy who couldn't actually audition as he was too young, but his performance took my breathe away...it was amazing.

Anyone else have any faves?

Didn't even realise that it started last night. That's what happens when you a) don't regularly watch TV; and b) try to have a social life. I was out having dinner with some mates.

Let me know when they get to the top 20.

Gee Helen, thanks for implying I'm a social life drop out who watches too much tv....

:D Kidding. Anyway, it's true! Haha.

It should get better as we get to the Sydney and Melbourne Auditions. Was good to see they didn't over load the show with "crap" dancers. And none of the judges were overally critical and mean which was really nice.

The judge, Matt Lee...was he the young kid out of Bootmen?

I'm so so so so so keen for Sydney auditions to start showing! Look out for guys called Hilton, Danny-Boy and Marco :D

That 15 year old was PHENOMENAL! I was sitting on the edge of my seat holding my breath, screaming "move to the States already!!!!" He was truly a star.

What about that chick "Britney-Goes-Out-With-No-Undies-Why-Cant-I"? Gross.

He is so amazing. I recorded SYTYCD because I'm out every night for dance class, so I kept going back over his performance. Amazing. I wish I could dance like that... puts me off auditioning when I turn 18.. lol.

I can't wait for the Sydney auditions either... I think one of my teachers will be on it because 10 loves sob stories and she tore her quad in her solo... and maybe my other teacher will be on it too.. but I have to record it and watch it later because I'm at dance Wed night when they show it :(

A couple of people got second chances on Wendnesday night's show. Do you guys think that was fair? I thought Syd came outwith a lot of good dancers. What does everyone else think?

So, I finally caved in and watched it today.

I'm pleasantly suprised. It's not going American Idol - I find the judges very supportive and all the dancers of an extremely high calibre. I do wish I could see a bit more of the dancing sometimes, but I understand time constraints and assumably when they get down to the top 20, the pace will slow down a bit.

I want to talk a little more about the judges and the structure of the show though. I am really, really pleased to see a 'reality TV' show like this - it looks like a live filming of a dance competition as opposed to something structured purely to create entertainment.

My heart goes all to all the dancers - Kelley Abbey is a former classmate of one of my teachers - Sue Ellen Chester - and anyone whose had her knows how challenging the choreography is. Sue Ellen was telling us once about how their teacher was a jazz musician's wife and their understanding and feel for complex rhythms and time signatures is truly unique. Their choreography is really 'trippy' and I completely understand how braindead some of those dancers were feeling.

It's kind of cool to see people you know on TV - there's a lot of Cassie (one of SDC's teachers and did a lot of Sue Ellen's classes - she's taking time off from work to 'continue her journey' in SYTYCD so I presume she is in the top 20) and I recognise one of the blond ballroom guys too. Didn't see him until he got sent home though, and talked about going home to see his fiancee.

Best wishes to all of those still in the competition, whoever those people happen to be.

I've just been informed that I know a lot more people in the show than I thought I did. Hmm.

Tough, tough calls to make in there. Massive sympathy and hugs to all dancers involved.

^ I cried SO hard when that Aboriginal bloke came out saying that he got in to the Top 20 but he wished his mum was alive to celebrate it with him, then Natalie told him to close his eyes and hugged him. Corny I know but I bawled :P

My friends Marko and Hilton are in! Woop!

Yes! I remember seeing his face plastered over some of the dressing room doors once. That was kinda spooky.

I'm sad that he didn't make it through, but have heard that he's been called back to choreograph for later on.

^The "one of best choreographers in Australia" compliment would've been so crazy to hear about yourself. Being called back to choreograph for the show you want to be on? That's a pretty big compliment too.
