This would be a c-jump.

I don't really have any tips to give you, this is really good. I guess just remember to try to focus on pushing your hips forward and aiming your toes for your head.

Keep up the good work!

Yeah like groovy chick said it's a C jump and for you first attempt that is just about perfect. I agree with the second poster on focusing on pushing your hips forward. That's the proper technique. My first times doing a c jump my head gets no where near my feet, even when we put it on our competition dance none of us on my old dance team looked as good as yours does.

Great job and Happy Dancing!

At my studio we call these squirrel jumps.
But I do agree C-jump is the proper term.

I hate to be corny, but I'd call it great... Okay dancers, I'm really sorry for that. It popped into my head when I first looked at the thread. C-jump, whether or not it's the proper term, is what we call it. And even if it's not the right name, if you were trying to describe it I would say you make a C with your body.

I love this jump (as a photographer) but I've never known what to call it, other than a "C-shape".

the best tip i have is to not be afraid...you will fall. Just remember, your back will fallow your head, so if you don't release your neck back, then your back won't arch. It looks really good though, i don't really see a lot you need to fix.
