If you are deciding on trying out for a college dance team, know there are two types:

1. is competitive
2. is non-competitive.

The non-competitives can still have you practicing up to 3 hours a day/5 days a week. Doing fundraisers, and attending all sporting events. When not dancing on the floor you may be reguired to cheer in the stands. Most do.

Sponsoring dance competitions, or drill state can also be added to the list. Non-competitive teams do travel to some games and usually attend a bowl or two. Bowl games can be as far away as Hawaii, San Diego, etc. Depends on the region you are in (east, west, mid).

The University of Utah Crimson Line. The lines and formations of this team are up to par with most of the major universities. Tryouts are intensive and begin in April. You have to check their website for tryout dates. web.utah.edu . . .

If you are looking for competitive college dance teams you should note that UDA at their Disney World Compeition stated that next year they are looking for more energy in their dances. Not so much the lyrical/slow dances that we've all seen. Engery. If you look at the winners from UDA this year, you will note the energy levels were really up there. Good performances.
