If your contract states that they cannot open or work for another studio within a certain distance make sure your attorney reviews it. Most will not be held up in court as you cannot deny the right of someone to work. Also you must have made this a requirment upon hire, not after the fact. So if you are initiating a contract after they are already hired then the contract would be null and void due to it not being accepted upon employment.
