Hello Gentlemen,
I am new to Sacramento. I just moved from Virginia. I am looking for a social dance partner. I am a beautiful thick sista that is quick on her feet. I will send a pic and I would like the same from you.
I have not danced all that much since I got here so I have to get myself back into the swing of things. I have gone to some places out here, so I am familiar. I am used to dancing 2-4 times a week. I want to get back to that.
BELOW IS WHAT MY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS ARE:
You don't have to be professional, just know the basics and have an imagination. Also have the ability to take your dancing to higher and HIGHER levels. I am big on experimenting. I have been dancing for almost 9 years.
As we all know, we do not know what we get until we get a test drive of who we are dancing with. AND THIS IS ESPECIALLY TRUE: Not every person is a perfect fit.
I am looking for a SALSA/bachata/merengue dance partner, ages 20-35. I especially love dancing bachata. I have noticed out here that not too many people know about bachata and how to really dance it. It is extremely easy but some people tend to complicate it. I have gotten SO frustrated where I DARE anyone to come near me when bachata (when they DO play it) or merengue comes on. I hate to sound bitchy but bachata is an EXTREMELY PASSIONATE dance and music. I am not going to lie: that is what I miss about being on the east coast.
I am a get down and dirty dancer. I BELIEVE IN HAVING FUN!!!! I enjoy putting my whole body into my dancing. I like to incorporate different African American dance styles with it (just as long as it looks good). For example, My dance partner on the east coast used to put west indian and creole style into his form of salsa.
MY MAIN REQUIREMENT IS THIS: YES RHYTHYM IS EVERYTHING BUT THE REAL THING IS YOU HAVE TO HAVE SOUL. YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO LET GO AND LET YOUR BACKBONE SLIP. BE OPEN AND INCORPORATE EVERYTHING. Just know this, if it feels right, that's 'cause it is! ANOTHER THING: FEEL THE DARN MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T JUST DANCE TO IT!!!! THAT IS THE MAIN PROB WITH FOLKS!!!!!
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW: AFRO LATINO (CARIBBEAN, PR, DOMINICAN, PANAMANIAN, CUBAN, ETC) I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEIR DANCE STYLE. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM USED TO! Being on the east coast naturally.
I AM NOT A BOUNDARY DANCER
I AM NOT INTO DANCE SCHOOL STYLE (LA NY MIAMI CHICAGO...BLAH BLAH BLAH) - one thing you will realize is that putting derivitives on this beautiful style of dancing--it will in the end inhibit your natural GOD GIVEN ABILITIES AND TALENTS TO LET GO AND FEEL IT!! Don't get me wrong, forgive me for sounding indignant. Its cool to learn but don't let that be something you conform into. BUT ALL IN ALL, Do what you like, this is just my preference.
I AM A STREET DANCER - that means this: I have danced with the best and the worst. I CONFORM TO WHOM I AM DANCING WITH. I have danced with dance school folks (teachers and students), i have danced with folks that learned since babyhood. Anything you may throw at me, I will catch. I learn fast. I CONFORM TO WHOM I AM DANCING WITH. One important thing is I DO NOT go past what my partner is able to do when we are full blown dancing (I compliment whomever I am dancing with) but keep in mind I will not allow him to make a fool out of me. I am able to keep it under control.
I AM NOT CHOREOGRAPHED
I FEEL THE MUSIC
I HATE TO LOOK LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE
One problem I do have with some "experienced" dancers is they do not pay attention to whom they are dancing with. In my eyes, you are supposed to compliment the lady that you are dancing with. She is not there to make YOU look good. She is not there to be your complete ragdoll without emotions. You are to feel what your partner is able to do and be open. You are to go at each others' pace. That is important.
Well, If you are interested, hit me up!
I look forward to hearing from you!
