Out of curiosity, how does your team handle ensembles, if at all? Do you audition for them, or is it an, if you want to do this, do it type thing?

I ask because on my team we've usually done a hip-hop and and a pom or jazz routine for competition, and a lyrical ensemble and an officer routine. This year we're doing hip hop and jazz but a lot of people have been tossing around different ensemble ideas, like a kick, a pom, a lyrical, a musical theater. They're all really good ideas and the girls seem really interested, but I'm not sure how to go about doing more than one ensemble, especially when it's so varied, or if we should limit them. How does your team handle it?

On my team we do it on a "if you want to, go ahead" basis. Of course if the piece does not look "performance ready" we do not allow it on stage!
