Has anyone heard of any studios that have hired American teachers for a year? I would love to teach abroad for awhile.. but am having the hardest time finding a studio!
i know its common here for teachers to come from italy, or spain etc. for a year as a guest artist...
does anyones studio do this?
thank you! 1 Replies to Need for American Dance Teachers? |

I own a studio in the Netherlands, and a foreign teacher for a year, well, why not. But I - and I assume most studios - will not be able to give you a fulltime or even parttime job. Just a couple of hours (1, 2, 3).
The problem would be to find a new teacher a year later. And of course because of the language I could only offer you students able to speak English. These students are 12+, intermediate/advanced an there are enough teachers here who would love to teach them, and I wouldn't have to start looking again after a year.
If you have professional dancing experience, you could try the official vocational schools. They work with foreigners more often.
Or teach workshops, or at SI's etc.
Just some thoughts from me. |
