Hello Dancers!
As the new director of DDN Ballet Theatre I'd like to first introduce myself and second welcome you to a new season of exciting virtual dance.
Just so you know a little about me here's an exerpt from my bio you can read more about my dance background on my profile page...or just ask
"Triskit's formal dance training began in Canada where she attended several professional ballet schools on scholarship. While a student she completed advanced level ballet exams in the Cecchetti and the Royal Academy of Dance syllabi, she also had the opportunity to study the Vaganova and Bournonville techniques. Professionally Triskit has performed with a number of ballet & modern/contemporary companies in Canada and the US. Her choreography has won numerous awards including invitations to work in London, Finland and Italy. Triskit attended College, on full scholarship, where she majored in Dance with a dual emphasis in Ballet and Modern. Triskit is a certified instructor of ballet, Pilates and Yoga."
Now please tell me a little about yourselves
I'll be casting for Nutcracker in a few months. Over the summer I will be traveling a lot but I will try to organize a small "performance" perhaps something like ballet theatre in the park...
I also have some ideas to make this more interactive and hopefully more exciting and fun for all of you:
1. Picture posting, when we are rehearsing it would be fun to have a picture post on what everyone is practicing.
2. Video posting. I'll create a youtube account for ddn ballet theatre where we can share videos of variations/performances or even just messing around having fun
I have more ideas but I'll post again soon with more info.
In the mean time, please post and let me know you're around, also let me know if you'd like to be part of the summer performance so I can get roles cast and assign rehearsals etc.
I'm excited to be a part of the VIS community and I hope with your help we can make this company a fun and active place.
I'm leaving for NY this week and will be gone till the end of the month but I will try to check in periodically to see who's posted.
