So when I was a little one, long time ago, we used to attend the tremaine conventions and i hold them as amazing memories. Recently I decided to look into sending my students to its summer convention in orlando this summer instead of attending a national comp. In the fall we will attend its regionals and then do "its" nationals summer 2009. Has anyone attended? I like that they only allow a certain amount of entries at regionals. Everyone can feel the same "little schools and "mega " schools.

Share you experiences with me please...

I don't remember the competition except for what you just said. They only allow 9 dances a studio which is EXTREMELY nice. There are no "big" or "little" studios there, evenyone is equal. As far as the judging though I don't remember.

The convention is great thoguh. All of my students were extremely challenged by it and there were no "easy" classes. They came back to class doing all of their dances for me and they all had a blast! However, they did say one teacher was mean but I don't remember which one! :(

We attended Regionals in Orlando last November and I don't remember any big studios taking over. We only competed two numbers but the kids did great and had a wonderful time. The judges gave useful, postive critiques. I have a special place in my heart for Tremaine as well. Have a great time!

We love Tremaine. Although we ave not attended a national the regioanl events have quickly turned inot our favorite! The competition is run professioanlly and smoothly - they have transitioned this year to the DVD critique system and that worked well.

Class are great kids love them. They also have specific Teacher rooms which are not just a re-visit of what is in one of the other rooms, good teachers forum with info on music stuio managemnt creative ideas etc. and an event for parents.

Really an easy and fun event.

When I went to Tremaine in NYC back in the day, Dan Karaty, Wade Robson, and Fatima (cant think of her last name) were all teaching there. Pretty much if they are a judge on SYTYCD They at one point taught at Tremaine conventions.

AHHH Dan Karaty. I had the biggest crush on him when I was little and my first time at Tremaine had him sign my shirt! I was sooooo in love. :) Ha Ha Ha
