I just made a major team and we are starting to learn some hard tosses. Does anyone have any good tips other than the obvious to help on the lift and catch of tosses? Thanks!

what kind of tosses are you having trouble with? And exactly what problems are you having?

yeah, I agree that it will be helpful to know about which tosses you are talking about.

However, one bad habit to avoid though is to not let yourself go on your toes as you release for your toss. Lifting your heels does not help the toss get out or really get any higher. A lot of people don't realize that they do this so it needs to be looked out for.

Well...I don't really know about any tips, aside from paying attention to release points, and the basics. During the off season for color guard, though I kinda noticed how far along the pole your hands are, the more momentum you can build, thus creating a higher toss, but I would imagine that also falls under the basic stuff. Also, for a cool, dramatic effect, you can put your weight in the bottom of your pole instead of the top. It creates a slower, more dramatic look to the overall toss and looks amazing when it's together.

I always weight both sides of my poles equally.

Thank you everyone! I am catching better now! I guess I was just asking about tosses in general like, singles and doubles.
