No soft shoes are pretty easy to break in I just wear them around, the Hard shoes however are a different ballgame. I put saddle soap on my hard shoes to try and stretch the leather, then after I wear them I bend them and wrap them with duct tape so that they stay like that till my next wear, in order to stretch the leather. Try it, it really works!

Just thought I'd share something I've recently found out helps breaking in hard shoes:

Obviously we all know the sit in front of the tv and bending the shoes this way and that method and everything that goes along with that. That works up to a point but what I've found to be even better is wearing the shoes and then massaging the soles. Like you're giving yourself a foot massage, just with your hard shoes on. It seems to help to soften the leather and because the shoes are on your feet the leather softens perfectly to the shape of your feet. :)

Can someone post a picture of how they bend and clamp/band the shoes like mom22 and others recommend? Also, when you say put them under the couch, do you mean you actually put the bent shoe under the foot of the sofa? This was somewhat confusing to me. Thank you!

ive heard that some people hit their shoe with a hammer to soften them, but surely this would ruin the shape and could damage it? also which part would you actually hit? from the back or the inside of the heel?

Thanks for the helpful post. We are attempting to break in hard shoes, and my DD's feet have huge blisters. We will try some of the suggestions.

Sleep in them!! That did the trick!! A friend recommended it to me and it worked! Think it must be the heat from being in bed under the duvet that moulds them to your feet...after all the motto is eat, SLEEP, Live DANCE?!!!
