I am a 25-year-old female from Houston, Texas with a lot of energy and flavor to share with others. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in May of 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders and a minor in Spanish. I am currently in my second year of graduate school at Louisiana Tech University. I have been dancing for the past twelve years. I was on my high school dance team for three years at Westfield High School of which I served as Sr. Lieutenant my senior year and selected as an All American Dancer for the American Dance Drill Team. I danced in college on the nationally known Varsity Rebelettes Dance Team as school competed every year at the National Dance Association (NDA) nationals. During my tenure on the team, I was a representative to the African-American community by being the only African-American dancer out of 20 girls. My senior year I chose to concentrate on graduating, but still continued to do dance projects outside of the team. Throughout college I did a number of choreography projects for pageants, talent shows, basketball games, and miscellaneous programs. I have worked with Mrs. Beverly Maggio and the Louisiana Tech Dance Program and have choreographed for the Louisiana Tech Regal Blues. I was also selected as a semi-finalist for the Beyoncé World Tour background dancer search. Although my college degree is in communicative disorders, I have the desire to reach out to my community and share the gift that God has blessed me with. Currently, I am in the process of starting a non-profit organization for the performing arts targeting inner city and troubled youth.
I love meeting new people and traveling to different places. I am very easy to work with, fun, loving, and a God fearing, Christian woman. I have experience working with young children. I have been working in early childhood education for the past seven years. Children attach to me like a magnet, and I have a love for children. It brings me great joy to see smiles upon their faces.
I am multi-talented. I've been playing the piano since I was 11 and singing since I was six, although I enjoy dancing and choreography the most. My favorite areas are hip-hop and jazz. I have other training in lyrical, pom, modern, and contemporary. I have a whole repertoire of ideas that I am ready to show others. In college our routines mainly consisted of jazz and hip-hop, and in high school our team excelled and won numerous of awards including state champions in jazz and hip-hop. Awards were also won in the areas of pom, novelty, military, and lyrical. As a versatile dancer, I am able to stretch my talents in many ways.
