to be a flyer, you should not be fear of heights.
i am a base. but coach asks me to try out as a flyer for stunts sometimes to get the 'feel' of it. i am really afraid of heights!
my first shoulder-stand, i trembled and shivered a lot!!!
we had progressed to elevator and later toss upwards and cradle. i know i have to try out as a flyer next lesson.
how? i am really worried. 5 Replies to fear of heights |

Hmm...well I have a slight fear of heights. Could it possibly be one of those things where you gradually get used to it? Maybe, if possible, go downtown or some place and go up to a high level and look down for a couple of minutes. Try to remain calm! Its really not as far as your mind thinks.
Also, VISUALIZE!! Visualization really helps anyone, in any sport, for a test, anything! If you picture yourself doing it you will end up less freaked! Good luck! |

I Agree With TwinkleStar7, You Should
Give It A Go Because You Could Gradually
Get Used To The Hights And Who Knows? You
Could Even Become A Flyer
Good Luck!

Heya, I'm a flyer for my stunt group!
Even if you're scared of heights, just go for it, you never know what it's like until you try! Once you're up there it's an amazing feeling! And as a flyer you feel as if you're really involved in it all!
Good luck from Leanne x |

I was a flyer for 4 years.. the reason I joined cheerleading was because my math teacher was the coach of the squad noticed I was a dancer and was really small. I told myself I would never be able to do it i was scared of falling and most of all heights.
I can tell you its the best feeling ever after you get the hang of it and when you go to competitions you feel so good because you know your a major a part in winning. Its also funny watching peoples faces when they found out your job is to be thrown around |

What helps me, I stare at something when I'm up but still pay attention to the cheer and stuff but that helps me way more than just being up there and trying to control myself plus relax yourself most of the time there is nothing to worry about your bases will help you out |
