Sorry for a stupid question but what is freeze dance?

I used to teach a group of little girls that LIVED for playing freeze dance. OMG.

You turn the music on, and the girls dance. At various points throughout the song, shut the music off. They have to freeze.

I'd do different variations on it, just to mix them up. I put down stickers so that they'd know their spots, and one week, I'd say that they had to stay on their sticker.

Then the next week, I'd say that they had to play freeze dance the way that they imagined an elephant would play.

Then I'd take anybody that didn't freeze, and they had to sit down. Last person standing got a special perk - they got to pick out our song for warm up, they got a sticker, they got to help me make sure everybody was on their spot, stuff like that.

Those girls LOVED that game so much!

Just to second what Theresa said...little kids LOVE freeze dance. Seriously. In all of the classes I've assisted with, the kids will scream when they get to play freeze dance. They'll beg all class long.

haha... funny I came across this.

I just got home from playing this with my little ones. They do love it! They usually want to go home right away, but today was the last day of summer classes so we had some fun, and they wouldn't leave!

once you play it with them, they will want to play every day.

Greg and Steve have a good song that goes to the game called "The Freeze". I can't remember what album it's on, but this is what I use when we play.

The Freeze is on Greg and Steve's album "Kids in Motion".

It also has songs like "Body Rock and Animal Action. The kids love those songs.

Freeze dance...? I don't know. Never heard of it.

I call ours Hannah Montana, because the girls loooove to sing her songs. We do Hannah Montana at the end of every class.
