Great post and a nice mix of food and drink ideas. I always end up taking the same stuff every time! Pasta, bannana and water! I might try something different next time lol.

Great advice for new dancers. I might just add that a few of our dancers have had migranes if they have too much sugar intake on the day of a competition and can be quite ill the next day

DONT DRINK RED BULL! i've lived off the stuff for years. Every morning for 4 years before dance college i would have a sugar-free red bull then one at lunch time too. Caffeine is so bad for you. I was in hospital during intense show rehearsals because caffeine had affected my heart-rate so much. Its so dangerous and addictive. If you have one, Have one every now and then but dont get the sugar free ones as they contain aspartame which is a sweetener and causes stomach problems. Red bull or any high caffeinated drinks act as laxative when having too many too which isnt a good thing!! especially at comps!

I reccomend lucozade sport as they contain everything you need for a day of dancing.

Good post

Great advice there. I have been wondering for a while what the best things were to eat and drink during a comp. Got most of it right except melon, my daughters favorite fruit, will have to rethink that one.

Many thanks
