Hi everyone,

I'm looking for songs for our year end recital this year. Our theme is 'The Elements' - i.e. earth, air, fire and water. I need a song for a Mini Hip Hop class (2 boys and 8 girls age 5-8) and a Kinder class (8 girls age 4-5). The Kinder class can be jazz, tap or ballet.

Thanks for any suggestions! I've been looking around but haven't found anything I love for these two classes.

There is a good song from the show Glee. It is a Mash-up of Umbrella and Singing in the Rain. It has a great beat and would be great for the Hip Hop group. Also there is a song called "Trickle Trickle Splash Splash" by Manhattan Transfer. That maybe over the heads of the Kinder class, but a great song for the theme.

For recital this year we are doing When I Grow Up and all the songs have to deal with jobs. Here are some of the songs we are using.

-Signed Sealed Delivered (Postman)
-Chez Paris (Chef)
-Someday Ill Be Miss America (Beauty Queen)
-ABC (teacher)
-Build Me Up Buttercup (Florist)
-So Many Animals (Zoo Keeper)
-Stupid Cupid (Match Maker)
-Blow (Demolition Specialist)
-Built This City (Architects)
-Rescue Me (firefighter)
-Sneaker Night (Shoe Designer)
-Come Fly With Me (Pilot)
-Drops of Jupiter (Astronomer)

I know there are more but after a long day, I can barley function anymore :)

I am thinking about doing a theme about FAIRYTALES. I only have teenagers and I need mostly upbeat songs. I don't want to necessarily use an actual song from the fairytale but a song that could describe it. For example I have thought about using the song HAIR from the musical to describe Rapunzel and then maybe Shewolf for Little Red Riding Hood. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

A couple of seasons ago on Dancing With The Stars, they did a Little Red Riding Hood themed dance to "Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon. That's a cool song.

I know it is early, but my recital theme for 2013 is going to be "Around the World!" I have a few classes starting competitions in November and really need some good song Ideas! I have seen posts about this theme andhave not found exactly what I would like. The songs I still need are for children ages 3-13 (in different classes), for tap, jazz, and ballet/lyrical. I would prefer if the song mentions a countrys name in the title or song, but does not have to!

Thanks

Our theme this year is "so you think you can dance" I am trying to find songs for our production number. I was going to do a swing theme but Im just not feeling it. Of course we already ordered costumes and everyone is wearing the pictured costume. Now I am leaning more towards songs that are about dance ie. wanna dance with somebody , dancin w myself etc just nothing is sticking any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for songs that fit into "Once Upon A Time" theme for adults. I have a tap, jazz, musical theater, and novelty class for senior citizens for a Spring show, and I need to do a tap solo (which I am really stumped on.)

I might be using the song "Little Red Riding Hood" by Sam the Sham or the Coasters. I have a guy that will dress up as the grandma, and then later come back in the dance as the wolf.

I've been thinking about doing a Mary Poppins Medley that could incorporate a few different styles of dance.

I haven't done Ease On Down The Road for many years or Be Our Guest.

My little tappers are dancing to Wanna Be Like You, and Bibbidi Bobbidi, Boo.

ME??? I'm just not sure. Nothing I have listened to makes me really excited and frankly I'm not really excited about this theme at all. UGH...HELP ME!!

A good theme idea suitable for all ages would be cheesy party songs like superman, music man, witch doctor, change change slide, macerena, etc.
