I have been a member of DDN since I was pretty young, 12 or 13 I think, and have been a (somewhat) active member, less so in the last year. I have danced for 16 years, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, hip hop, and once attempted tap then quickly realized my body did not quite move like that!

This last week, we found out one of our main ballet teachers has taken another job that would enable her daughters to go to college for free, so she took it. That meant a new teacher was necessary! And little old me was chosen! I'm very excited, I have assisted and subbed for a while now, and ever since I was little I dreamed of teaching!! So anyways I'm teaching everything from baby ballet to lyrical to intermediate jazz! I'm also the director of the drill team a our studio! Anyways, I'm rambling...but I'm too excited!

That's awesome, I'm very happy for you. Just stay confident in what you're doing there! You're story is kinda how I got my job, and I'm going on my 2nd year so just keep dancing. I'll pray for you and I'm not just saying that!

I am sure, as you already know, these boards are a huge help. I joined the boards in December of 07 and I have had such a great time reading others issues and ideas. It has consouled me, inspired me, and also acknowledged what I am doing is like others. You will find the same, I am sure.

Congratulations! Being a teacher is definitely very rewarding just keep that same enthusiasm while teaching and everything will be just fine.
