I own approximately ten kajillion leotards and tights, so I only wear them once before washing unless I have to wear a certain leo for a performance and I forget to wash it (i.e., last week). It strikes me as kind of grotsky to wear a dirty leo and tights, considering how much I sweat in them...

I hand wash after every lesson and put them in the mashine sometimes, too.

I handwash mine after most lessons. I only have one leotard and one pair of tights that I can wear - for the grade I am in.

I have to admit that I occasionally do forget.

Haha, everyone will think im so dirty!! I wash my leotard and leggings once a week and i have *thinks* four lessons a week.
Only two of those are like, hardcore sweating though.

When I was taking class daily I had enough tights and leos for each day and I did laundry once a week. Now that I teach I don't wear tights everyday, but I still only wear a leo or tights once before washing.

For hygene reasons, you really should not rewear tights before washing. (unless you wear underwear, but still...you might not think they smell, but you never know what the girl next to you can smell! Or the teacher!

I always wash my leotard and tights after every class, because I sweat a lot and do not wear anything underneath. I can see how if you maybe didn't sweat much and wore something else underneath then you might not have to wash as often, but I still think that anything that touches your skin--especially the sensitive parts of your skin--should be washed after every wearing.

Ew, I sweat so much. I always wash my leo(s) after every class and normally my tights. Luckily I have many pairs so I'm never running short lol

I sweat a lot at dance too. I wash them after every class, I'm OCD about everything being clean. But I own a lot of leotards and tights so I do of load of dance stuff once a week. =]

you should wash your tights and leotards after every class cause not only cause of the germs but the smell who wants to stand next to a dancer with smelly tights

I machine wash them, but I don't know how often. It's not really on a predetermined schedule...

I usually always wash them after class.. usually every time..
I hate putting on dirty dancewear.. :/

I usually put them in the delicate cycle with the washer.

i have enough leotards and tights for the whole week, so i wear clean ones every day and then just wash them on the weekend. I don't wear a leotard or a pair of tights more than once before washing them.
I machine wash both and then hang dry

I sweat way too much in class to not wash my leotard and tights after one wear. I don't think I could stand putting them on when I've already worn them!

this sounds very strange but i hardly ever wash mine they almost never get dirty... though of course i wash them but not all the time i dont see why people need to wash ther leo and tights after every lesson.....

Ew! If anyone sweats as much as I do after I've been dancing for 5 hours you should DEFINITELY wash both after every time you wear them! It shouldn't be an option!

Uh I wash my leotard and tights after every dance class.
Also, I machine wash them but always hang dry.

After every class. I'm probably one of the sweatiest people I know during ballet class, so it's definitely necessary for me.

I wash my tights by hand or in the washer on gentle, and my leos with the rest of my clothes. I hang them all up to dry unless I'm running late and have a sopping wet leo, I'll pop it in the dryer on air fluff for a few minutes.

I do this once a week because I have enough tights and leos to last that long. I can't imagine wearing dirty dance clothes, it's like putting on dirty underwear, except you sweat in it, too.

I always wash my leo after class. Our teacher works us well for over an hour each class and I get pretty sweaty, especially in the summer.

In the winter, I only wash my tights after every other class because it seems like the more I wash, the sooner the wear out or get runners. But I do wear underwear under them so they really don't get gross. In the summer though, I do wash them after every class. When it's hot and humid even my legs sweat, and I just can't wear them more than once.

My skirt only gets washed maybe once a week/every two weeks. It gets the least gross, it doesn't get sweaty or dirty or anything.

One thing I wish I could wash are my flats and pointes. They get smelly Baby powder helps a lot but I still wish I could scrub them out sometimes.

Oh, and I handwash everything, and my dance clothes last waaaaay longer than they did when I machine washed them!

I wash both after every class (I have a lot of extras so this isnt too hard). I never wear underwear, against all rules, but does it help keep the tights clean, don't you sweat the same?

I wash them after every class, usually by hand. I've never done it but I like the idea of taking them in the shower. I have washed the leos a couple of times in the washing machine and I think it does a better job!! I'm thinking of getting more leotards because I only have 3, 2 of which I wear all the time, the other once in a while because I can't wear a sports bra with it.

I find that even with washing every time the leotards that are old (both over a year) and worn so much that they are hard to get clean smelling.
