There hasn't much been said about the Bulgarian sensation Simona Peycheva.

She is technically brilliant, hard working, but often overlooked because she is not Russian [or would that be an unfair statement?]

What are your opinions of Simona Peycheva?

She deserved to be ribbon champion in 2007 Euros.
She is not my favorite, but she has some of my favorite routines ever. I love her energy.

i think she is has very interesting routines i loved her hoop and ball routines(one small mistake she made with ball) at the 2004 olympic games it was amazing

but i didnt get to see much of the rhytmic gymnastics this olympics they just showed highlights and she was not included

i think she definatly gets overlooked and its not fair cause she is extremly talented

After years of being practically the only top-10-gymnast Bulgaria had, they owned her at least an acknoledgement /is the spelling correct?/. Unfortuantely, the current situation in the Bulgarian rhtythmic gymnastics is more than bizare...

She's not my favorite gymnast, but I think she's among the best, considering she's so young compared to other top gymnasts.

Well, she's not that young... Apparently she is retiring, it was recently revealed that she is pregnant.

And it was a pretty big deal, considering how much she has contributed to Bulgarian rhythmic gymnastics. There seems to be a few gymnasts retiring, and unfortunately they (include Almu retiring) have made a tremendous impression on a lot of us.

Simona Peycheva is a tremendous talent, and her presence at the big competitions will certainly be missed!!

I guess its confirmed, Simona Peycheva has retired, and there seems to be quite a debate going on about her pregnancy and how long she has been pregnant. If the baby is due in a couple of months, that probably implies that she was pregnant while attending the olympic games...

It's nothing sooo new that a gymnasts retires and inmediatly gets married and/or get pregnant. We have several examples like Larissa Lukianenko, Elena Vitrichenko or Svetlana Putintseva, nothing strange in Eastern Europe.

Well, its not that she has a life outside of gymnastics, but that she was competing, and probably was pregnant.

All the best to Simona, i am not saying that what she did was deliberate impregnation as a hormonal boost to cheat in the olympics. I am not speculating on this matter, but just conveying information that other rhythmic gymnastics enthusiasts might be interested in.
