the studio is getting overrun by trophies!!! I let soloists take home their own, but the studio keeps all duos/trios/group trophies. Our ceilings aren't high enough to line the studio. We do have a case, but that is now full.

Does anyone have a good reference of somewhere we can donate them, or and other ideas?

i have no clue where we are going to put the ones from this year!!!!

At my old studio my instructor let everyone in competition take one trophy at the end and if there wasnt enough she would do it just for the seniors that year. It seemed to work well. Hope this helps.

A few years ago, my former high school sold all of the trophies that were more than 10 years old, as fundraisers for the various activities in which trophies were earned. I bought one from my senior year, one of the colorguard grand champ ones...

Anyway, that's an idea, selling the trophies for donations for this year's comp groups. It could turn into an annual thing, or you could do it just whenever you get overrun.

we donated ours to the special olympics. they take off the placards with the competition name on it and give them out. anything like that im sure would be greatly appreciated.

Ask the competition to not give you trophies, and instead donate the money to a worthy cause. Some already offer that as an option.

We were just talking about this the other day...does anyone know of other places that can recycle trophies? We don't want to throw them away, and we don't know what to do with them all!

One thing you can do if you donate them, is to pull the placards off the front yourselves and put them in a scrapbook. That way, you save time for the recievers of the donation, and you keep the recognition, and save space!

We have a banquet for our competition groups after Nationals. We give out awards to dancers and will use the "Old" trophies as their awards. They always enjoy getting their reward and it helps keep our trophies manageable.
