How dark do you want it to be?

Don't know if this is possible for you (if there are quick costume changes, etc) but if you have options, I'd play with their makeup instead of just their costumes! Add really pale foundation, dark eyeshadow, or different colors of lipstick, like dark purple, light blue, blood red, even black.

If you just want to add something to the costume, I'd add a raggedy, gauzy black accessory and vary it with each dancer. For instance, make a flowy 3/4 wrap skirt for one, wings for another (attach at wrists and shoulders and let it flow), a scarf for another, etc.

You could also use wide black ribbon, and attach two or three strands at their shoulders and then down to their wrists, maybe let it dangle a foot off of their wrists, so that you'd get a spidery effect.

Can't wait to hear what you decide to do!

I like the gauzy fabric idea! That's kind of what I was envisioning but couldn't think how to make it

In addition to playing up the makeup, you could have them "gel" their hair to look wet. We did that for a number and it was a great effect.

You could buy some shiny silver metalic material and cut everyone a strip or so. They could use it however they want (around neck, arm, or leg, etc)

I like the hair slicked back look, too. And if you pair that with smokey eyes I think it will look great.

There are lots of great colored tights in fashion retail right now. Start with those then layer fishnets or black tights with lots of runs or cut one leg off the black tigts. Another idea is basic black with little touches of white and then use black lights for part of your dance.

Haha! I am doing a jazz dance to this now too. I think Like a one sleeve shirt, with to small straps crossing and some shorts, and fishnets with wholes and glove things.

I have a group doing something similar and they are wearing the majority black on their bodies. But they have purple accents I have to admit purple really is goth like especially worn with black.

Adding just a little bit of color may be cool.
