Heinz Claus Died

I'm writing in a late response to Tybalt. I agree that the world has lost one of its master dancers (and partners). I knew Heinz Claus and he was a really great person as well as dancer. He taught both of my brothers the Apollo solo from Balanchine and was good company in the cantine in Stuttgart. I have only fond memories (and lots of old performances on tape) and everyone who knew him will always remember him warmly.

I was so sad when I read tybalt's post; Heinz Claus was a BEAUTIFUL dancer who moved with passion and skill beyond most dreams. His loss is an immense one, and though I saw him only in ballets on videos and not in person, I am sure he exuded the same warmth in real life as on the stage. My condolences to all those who knew him.
