Locked by tiny_dancer1 (141209) on 2008-12-07 19:16:30 Finished it :D I'm going to post what it looks like!

In my kinesiology class I have to build a model out of clay of a structure in the body. I am not very knowledge in working in clay so does anyone have any ideas of what I could build, that would be simple. I would rather do something simple and make it look good as oppose to try and build the spine or something and make it look horrid.
So what can I build? Or does anyone have any good/easy instructions I could borrow?
This is due in a few weeks, but I seriously need an idea so I can attempt to make it and start the write up!

ps I was just thinking that making something like the heart or brain would be cool, but I'll have to ask if I could do that? Either way, does anyone know how I would do that?

There are shops out there that provide moulds for shapes of bones etc. My ex lives near the main university and a store near him specialised in that. I always thought it was a bit odd, but now I see that people have to make things ike that, it makes a bit more sense!

Haha.

I would try for a bone, or simplified joint if you are able to. ("structure" is a fairly vague word). The femur is fairly easy. Knee joint can be done without too much trouble.

My teacher showed us an example and they did the knee joint...and I swear they used that exact picture as it is identical to it lol. Anyways I'm going to buy my supplies tomorrow. And I really want to do the heart know even though I know it would be super hard. Hmm, well if anyone else has any other suggestions that would be great :) But I'm going to talk to my teacher about what I can make in more detail as I am a little confused of what he specifically wants. Hopefully I will post the finished project...either that or I'll be posting on the support board because I cried all night long because I fail at sculpting and I through it out a window. You know, whatever works ... ;)
