VIS is still active, however it does seem to have declined in activity recently. But there are still a number of us around.
I'm not an 'official' around here, but have you been assigned a dorm and such? If not, then perhaps send a PM to Oranges (President of VIS) and explain. Or else just pick a dorm and go I guess..

Thanks Claire. I filled out the initial signups on both the main part and on the ballet department boards. I thought that someone was supposed to 'assign' a dorm from the general signup?
If I don't hear anything in the next few days I'll send some notes to the people you mentioned. |

We just had an Olympics, and a lot of people participated. VIS is active, although much slower then some other boards. Welcome to VIS. |

Yes Welcome! The VIS olympics which was a massive event just finished up. I'm trying to start something in my own dorm (I'm event coordinator) at the moment. There's not many people around so it's jsut been a little slow lately. |

Since the Stretching Club just transfered over to VIS (Rehearsal 6) several of us just signed up and were assigned to dorms. But I must say I can't figure out how something as visually oriented as a dance school works on a strictly text-based role playing basis. Rather than typing that I just entered a classroom and started warming up at the barre I'm more likely to put on a ballet class video and actually do a class in my living room with a chair as the barre. There are a couple of French classes that people have tried to get going and this could be do-able. But if you have ever taken a language class online you can see that to produce such a course takes a LOT of development, not to mention programming capability. So I'm not sure where my enrollment in the school goes from here, apart from posting weekly progress in the stretching club. |

^^Many times (most often, actually) the classes are posted in text and the people who want to take it read it, and actually DO it in their own home, on their own time, and post their progress and what they thought of the class...I really haven't seen people simply chatting with "I come in the room and warm up at the barre" unless it's a "party" thread, where we would type our actions at the party rather than try to have a party alone in each of our houses. haha |

Thanks for the clarification. I can see how, especially in ballet with its standardized terms, it would be possible to post exercises and combinations to try |
