Hello everyone I hope your all well this week and I hope you've been working hard.

I've done better this week than I have been, I did a lot of lazy stretching - with weights so very little effort involved.
Then I did a stretching session at poledance class, then I had rehersal another day and spent ages there stretching while they rehearsed the chorus.
I have noticed some improvement especially in my straddle up the wall - I mark the progress on the wall with pencil like you do with height when your growing.

Just to make a little change this week I would like you to post your favourite stretch, you can do this anyway you want, e.g; writen, drawing, picture from web, photo of you, what ever you want.
I'll post mine in a bit.

Hiya...

This week was way better than the last one! My "winter depression" iis (hopefully...) over now.

On Monday I didn't do anything. On Tuesday I had regular training. On Wednesday I streched for 1 hour, on Thursday + Friday I had regular training as well and stayed a bit longer at the studio for an additional streching time during which I strained a muscle in my right leg quite seriously... So obviously I couldn't do anything with my legs yesterday so I just did some strenghtening + streching exercises for my upper body.

And today I haven't done anything (yet!)

It's been cold and snowy here, most days. So far so good with my goal of NOT getting tendonitis or plantar faciitis during the winter.

Although my computer chair is adjusted at a good height for using the keyboard, my feet do not rest flat on the floor. This is not good for posture and it is especially not good for improving foot/ankle flexibility to be sitting with feet half-way pointed, just the balls of the feet on the floor. So I looked for boxes to put my feet on. One box is actually "too " high so I can sit with heel off the edge, slightly stretching the foot and ankle.

A couple of weeks ago I added extra stretching to the FRONT of my right foot so as to improve its ability to point. When I was about 26 a horse aimed a kick at the horse I was riding but got me, instead, breaking a metatarsal. After the cast came off, the foot and ankle regained strength OK but were never as flexible as before. Now, when sitting, I spend part of the time with the top part of the foot resting on the floor (or a box, depending on where I'm sitting), stretching the muscles all the way up the front of my foot and my shins.

These extra foot/ankle stretches at the desk are just very small and gentle rather than deep stretching as I haven't done a warmup. I have already seen a small improvement in the ability of the right foot to point.

Hey guys, awesome work I'm really impressed I'm gonna have to start working harder.

Especially loving Toroandbruin stretching at the desk, thats what you call multitasking. I'm following your example and am sat on my desk chair now in the butterfly stretch.

P.S. I'm ery jealous of the snow I'm in South England theres no snow today it's sunny and cold but most of the time it's raining.

Hi, I didn't stretch every day last week because I was so stressed but fortunately my exam period is over and I want to do a lot of stretching this week and during the holidays! I'm quite motivated!!

I think my favourite stretch is the one where you sit with one leg tucked and bend over your straight leg. Boring, I know. :P

Hello :)

I just wandered into your post from the stretching board as I was looking for some stretching tips since I have never been very consistent with it and have noticed a distinct loss of flexibility over the last year :C

Am I intruding in this thread or is it an everyone welcome sort of club? I've never been over to this dance.net tab (VIS) before so I wasn't sure...

Pls let me know as a stretching club sounds like just what I need to keep myself motivated :)

Thanks
(off to the stickies on the stretching board now to educate myself!)
