Hello all, I'm sorry I missed last week, my computer broke on the Saturday but I'm now at home using my Dad's computer.
I hope everyone (Who celebrates it) Had a very merry Christmas and you will be forgiven for having a stretching break.
I didn't, I've been working hard well sort of. I'm at my parents house and don't have a tv or computer in my room and don't share the same taste in TV shows as my parents so I;ve been spending a lot of time reading but I don;t like to sit still and read I always stretch.
I've got my turnout almost back to where it was before ballet lessons stopped for Christmas, although I have noticed for the first time ever that my left leg is not as turnout out as my right but it is more flexiable and stronger.
My straddle has also improved immenley, as has my back, I took some photos but you;ll have to wait untill my computer is fixed to see them.
I hope you all have loverly new year celebrations and I look forward to seeing you all next week.

It's been a hectic past two weeks but I've managed not to goof off too much. I did an oldie but goodie BalletPilates with Ellen Barrett and a few extra stretches after it. Afterwards, lying on the rug on my stomach I realized that when I lie this way, just relaxing (like on the beach) I lie naturally with my hips, knees and feet turned IN. Not a good habit. But if I make sure my hips and knees are straight, facing the floor, after a while my knees which are pressing into the floor, start to hurt. If I try turning out a bit, the inside edge of the knees press against the floor and REALLY hurt, along with the small of my back since in this position my pelvis cannot rest flat on the floor but is slightly raised. Bottom line? I need to practice lying on the floor the right way but use lots of padding to keep the knees protected. |

I enjoyed stretching so much last Tuesday and as a result I felt sore for 3 days. I think my turnout has improved a bit, which is at least better than nothing.
Unfortunately I couldn't stretch yesterday because I twisted my ankle while I was warming up. Ouch, I really wanted to dance today

Yeah, well I haven't stretched since about Saturday(I think). Anyway I must get back to my normal routine. |
