Hello! I am a retired dance teacher for now 8 years and I sadly miss dancing. I wish I would have had this site when I taught! I hope I can still be helpful to all of the teachers out there :) I would love to still teach and I am thinking about maybe teaching some summer classes. We are moving 6 months north (probably VA/DC) and 6 months south (FL).

Welcome. I love this web site. Where else can I talk to people who teach little bitty kids preballet? It's a passion with me and it's been wonderful to read about dances and techniques that have worked with other teachers.
Do you have any dances that work for the tiniest of your dancers at a recital? 2 year olds??? and young 3's??

We had a baby pre-dance class and for our ballet number, we danced 'My heart belongs to Daddy' and the girls were able to dance on stage with their daddies and we have two mommies too :)

I find if the song has words in it that they are able to mimick like 'Tap you toes, pointe your toes, clap your hands, etc.' they hear that and do that and it helps so much :)

Hope that helps!
