Hello and Happy New Year to everyone!
I hope your all doing well and stretching hard. Today as a little change I'd like you to post your stretching new years resolutions. Mine is to stretch every day rather than just some times.
I'm doing pretty good, I got a theraband which is pretty cool and helps stretching. My middle splits has improved loads, more than I thought possible and I'm working on strength for better arabesques.

My resolution is always to get more turnout and more flexibility in the legs to the sides and back. Plus flexibility in the back. I'm actually not too bad to the front. I really doubt I'll ever develop more than the 45 degree turnout I have now; so I guess the objective there is to maintain the muscles necessary to not lose that little bit.
Recently I've been concentrating on flexibility in my ankles and feet, with some success, and will continue that into 2009. For 2009 I should return to once more trying for somes sort of decent arabesque. For me, that means stretching the back even more than it does stretching or strengthening the legs. I could never do a bridge-up, even when I was a kid. At the Jazzercise center, I've discovered that if I lie backwards over an exercise ball I can stretch my hands and feet toward the floor, getting a good back stretch without injuring myself. That plus a lot more Yoga cobras should result in some progress. |

Haha! Ballet_Baibe, guess what I got today? A theraband! So now, we can share some cool execises! I'm looking for stretches with a theraband at the moment.
My new years resolutions are to get my splits down and to stretch and strengthen my legs and feet at least every second day. I'll try to stretch every day, though.
I did quite well this week but I don't really see an improvement. Maybe I should take pictures.

My favourite thing to do with a theraband at the mo is tie it to both feet then lay down feet in the air with the middle bit under your bum to stretch your middle splits, I call it lazy streting coz then I can read or do whatever at the same time.
I'm also using it to strengthen my feet and ankles doing a pointe and flex excercise.
