Hello Everyone:

I wanted to start the New Year right by joining the dance.net community, where teachers share ideas and get support when they need it. This is just such a great site.

I have been teaching for 10 years now, mainly preballet and preteen levels of ballet. My favorite ages are the 3-5 year olds, they are such sweethearts. Just today I was grocery shopping and met one of my 5 year old students who saw me down the isle, ran to me and wrapped her little arms around my legs to give me a hug. Just that small kindness made my afternoon.

When I found this site, it was great. I also teach the wee little ones and no one else loves to talk about the creative ideas, music and dances that consume my thoughts except the fellow teachers here!

I know sometimes we get tired, upset, stressed but those types of reactions from our students is all we need to forget the rest. I love just the thought of it, makes you know that you are truly appreciated.
