^ Surprisingly, it's really not. You'd think it was, but it really isn't. You just...you know...wash your hands before and afterwards really well.

Hannah, you never even touch your own fluids. Unless you leave the cup in for like...days, it'll never get even close to full. I usually don't even look, just pinch the bottom to break the seal, turn it upside down, shake, and rinse out any extra. I was really worried it'd be gross, but it's not in the least. I actually find it WAY less gross than tampons, and I'm super-easily grossed out.

So I totally wasn't expecting my period to come for about a week. But the cramps woke me up at 5:30 this morning before it even started. Now it's 6:45, the midol hasn't done anything, and I can't sleep. I'm using a hot water bottle right now which is helping a pretty good amount. But I was really hoping this wouldn't be a crampy month. Last month was crampy, the month before last was crampy. My body normally gives me a break from the wicked crampiness every couple of months, but nope. My uterus hates me.

Bleh. I hate back cramps. I hate them so much. And why is it I start think *very* violent things when I'm cramping? Like I feel like Freddy Krueger is ripping my uterus to shreds or maybe I want him to - because then it'd be destroyed and I wouldn't get a period anymore if my uterus were destroyed. Yuck. I don't want kids, can't I just get rid of this thing? *sigh*

Surprising, I actually happy it came this week because I have a big gymnastics competition next Friday and I don't need this to add to the stress. On the downside, I am all crampy and sore and can't focus long enough to study. Only 4 more days left...

Feel so horrible. I took Nurofen (sp?) Plus today. Strongest painkiller I could find. It took 2 hours for it to kick in, and now I just feel like passing out.

I really need to start taking the pill again.

Hi there! Ok, so I just joined DDN but I have been reading posts and coming here for ages.

Anywho! I have been following this thread. What a great idea! I just started today..oh the joy. Glad to have a place to come and relax with others in the same situation. Husbands just don't understand! I am also coming off the pill for the first time in about 10 years, so waiting to see what nature has in store for me as I try to "adjust."

Count me in. Mine came at a really odd time. But it seems to be trailing off now, thankfully. The sucky part is that I'm running track as well as dancing and I also have a really bad cold right now so I'm pretty tired I can't even tell you how much chocolate I've eaten.

I was actually out two days ago, but thought I'd drop in with some treats and hot water bottles...have a good month ladies! I had a very easy period, a day shorter than normal. Yay diva cup!

I planned to visit this month, but kept forgetting to pop by.

This was the easiest period I think I've ever had! Little cramping or inflating (although I still craved insane amounts of chocolate (which could be related to something else entirely (I've had a bad few weeks))), shorter, lighter, and generally much, much better. Hooray!

Hope you girls are all doing OK this month.

I've come to warm my feet at the fire

My periods aren't ever that bad cramp-wise but I've been in a HORRIBLE mood all week from this one. The worst part is that I think it caused me to do sort of bad on a math test because I found out 5 min before taking it that the whole unit we've been working on for the past week wasn't the focus of the test and even though I usually do well under pressure I almost broke down in a tearful, pms-fueled rage and ended up taking the first section of the test completely unfocused. Yay for the monthly curse!

Oh and I have a period horror story to share. I went on the NuevaRing for the sole purpose of trying to stop my period and it turns out my body doesn't react well to that sort of thing because I had it anyway and it lasted 2 months. It wasn't heavy but still. . .2 months! I've learned to just go with the flow of nature now lol

Sigh. well i'm here. I'm feeling positively awful tonight, I was just trying to talk to my boyfriend on the phone before (we've recently gone long distance) and I could barely feign interest. I just want to sleep until I feel better but not at the expense of talking to my boyfriend.
Not even chocolate helps today ugh.

I'm back (about ten days or so late too! Ugh!!) I got sent home sick from school because I tried to take Midol again and I passed out.. They (being my assistant principal) wheeled me out in a wheelchair and everything. I give myself my very own epic fail.

And to top it off I now owe a voice lesson, gym class, and I'm missing a dance rehearsal for the musical.

So I would have come here earlier, when it was the worst, but I was babystting then on my way to the feis (ID comp for those of you who aren't irish dancers). What joy! in a car for 3+ hours with not just your mom so you can't really complain about it, and it was just.... complicated. I hate having my period over competitions.... oh well. at least I won't have it when we do all of our St. Patrick's Day shows! This one hasen't been horrible to me. yay! I think its almost over, but I'm home from school today, but thats mostly from pure exhaustion. sheesh.

I'll be making a carrot cake on sunday, maybe I'll pop in and hand some out! but for now, (its, appropriate! a period cake!.. kinda.)

Ok, so after some reading and thinking I finally decided to do it! I am the proud owner of a diva cup. Everyone who has one here and loves it...I am trusting you!! So we shall see how it goes. The final straw was last night when I once again was forking over another 10 bucks for "supplies."

Funny story though. Bit of background on me, I have no problems buying most anything in a store. I will walk up with medications, tampons, etc. So cashier guy is all curious at what is this little box that costs 30ish dollars and keeps taking it in and out of the bag trying to figure out what it was. I just wanted to tell him..do you mind and put it in the bag so I can leave!
