It's open to all ages, if we get a ton of entries I might make two categories but I'd be surprised if that many showed up! (Prove me wrong )

Winner: Crown, Scepter, Trophy, Winners Sash, karma, flowers, $1000, title of Arabesque Pageant Winner.
1st Runner Up: 1st Runner up Sash, $750, 1st Runner Up Trophy, karma

There will be different stages of the competition, the winner of each stage gets a karma point.

To find overall winners, points will be tallied like so in each stage. No participation +0 points, participation+1, third=3, second=4, first=5.

The stages will probably be Talent, Fashion and the Personality stage. Talent will be where you exhibit your talents, Fashion where you exhibit your clothes picking/beauty skills and personality is where I will ask you some questions to assess your personality.

There is NO age limit, NO requirement to post photos/videos of yourself, nothing to exclude anyone! I really want everyone to participate!

Suggestions for the pageant can go here. I've never organized one before, and just basing it off my knowledge.

If this takes off, it could become a bi annual event.

What would you like to achieve in 2009?:Starting now, I've decided to work hard and get more noticed in dance class. Also I'd like to avocate pro-global warming, as I fell on somebody yesterday on ice. Also, I'd like to win an award for Fiercest model pose.

I've been thinking about the talent. I just didn't want to exclude people who might not have access to camcorder hmm. If they describe their talent in words they can lie and you can't really judge it. I've definitely concreted how to run personality and fashion section, still working on talent. Any suggestions for how to run talent are good, because I'm still not exactly sure.

I hope I get some more sign ups soon. I want AT LEAST five.

Do you think sending PMs out to each Arabesque member would help? Anyone volunteer to help me with that? That way we could do it half and half.

I think it's fair to want the talent portion to include a video. It's kind of easy to lie when describing something, so that's not exactly fair. And you don't need a camcorder per se, a digital camera that records videos would work just fine. That's what I use.

I did a fair share of pageants in my childhood, and for talent it really was a see-all type of thing. If you didn't perform your talent, you wouldn't be judged for it. I honestly don't see an alternative since plain text really is too difficult, plus it would be a bit hard if a judge misinterpreted something that someone tried to describe. Just my two cents.

^Yes. I understand completely. I just have enough problems getting people to participate, so I didn't want to exclude lots of people who would feel uncomfotable/unable to post videos. I might rethink the talent section.
