Okay, so I want to become a teaching assistant, I want to show my teachers that I can handle being a teachers assistant. There is another girl my age teaching a class, and another younger than me teaching. Please give me some tips!
Thank You!

I guess the best way is to just ask. Theres no way to really "show" her that you can handle kids without just doing it.
But being responsible can help. Always come to class prepared etc.
Just say "____, I'm interested in becoming a teaching assistant." See what she/he says. I doubt they are going to say no, because most teachers love having someone to help them out! |

You could also ask what the requirements are for becoming an assistant, and ask if they are looking for one for any classes. Tell them you're looking to become an assistant, and see where it goes from there. At my studio, my ballet teacher last year asked me for this year, and I was honored! Its really very fulfilling to see the youngters learn dance, and to help them grow. I love it! |

I think it's typically best if you ask "What are the requirements to be an assistant teacher? I would like to be considered." Then you'll know what they look for and your desire will be known.
Various schools have different requirements, but in general we are looking for dedicated individuals who would set good examples for other students. So, attend class regularly and make dance a priority. Work hard in class and have a positive attitude. Arrive prepared to work in appropriate clothing/shoes and with your hair secured. (This would also include appropriate cover-up as you come and go from class.) Be kind and courteous to everyone around in class and at the studio. |
