i think its a good fun start to the day, although sometimes a rush,
its seems to give my daughter confidence, and then she relaxes in time for the solo's
i find it harder having slow/street at the end, maybe they should do that in the middle, more peole might stay at comps then lol,

I'm not too fussed either way. I used to enjoy it when I was dancing myself so I can see how some people would miss it.
I'd be happy if it was dropped from ordinary comps and put on for weekenders mainly.

We would really miss rock n roll, one of the best bits of a comp, really enjoy seeing all the lifts etc and it makes a fab change from disco, would be much better if they scrapped hip hop/street, as quite often slow is really rushed just to fit this in.

Rock n roll should stay. Other wise its Freestyle all day whether its solo, pairs or Slow.
If more teachers took qualifications in RnR then promoters would find it easier to find judges for both RnR and Freestyle which I think is the real issue.
We purposely look for RnR comps. There were 3 rounds of u/12 RnR at Coventry on Feb 15th! which was nice to see.

it would break my heart
it is the fun section in the comps and me and my partner adore it
you can have a laugh and enjoy working together at my inter school comp the older girls used hand plastic clappers it was so funny
i know some people dont enjoy RnR and i respect that but i dont enjoy slow i find it really boring
thanks jazz x

I would miss rock n roll! i love to watch the little ones dance too. We find that rock n roll is a fun warm up, no pressure and it just gets the whole school going! why is it that some judges dont always stand up for the rock n roll?

Hi
I know i'v posted before but we would be gutted if there was no rocn n roll, we are going to a comp on Sunday 22nd March & there is none there, the day will seem so strange. Perhaps we could start a protest ( only joking).

We All love RNR at our school
our teacher is highly qualified in it as well, so her routines are amazing
I think it is getting dropped more and more
as the competion runners can not find qualified teachers to judge it
which is a shame as it is an excellent way to warm up
for solos
I think that slow can be a bit boring at times, I think they should not do slow spots except at the festivals when there is more time.
we would be very sad to see it go

I do like rock n roll. I think its ashame that its dying out of competitions now. I don't do rock n roll as I don't have a dancing partner but if I did, I would like to do rock n roll

We would be totally gutted if rock and roll was dropped. It seems a complete shame that promoters feel this way when Rock and Roll has been around for so long.

When I tell people that Lauren dances they ask what type the understand rock and roll they don't "get" solo's etc.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give rock and roll the platform it deserves as it takes a lot of technique and skill to perform/teach this properly. I am not saying solo's doesn't but we should keep as many genre's going as possible as they all increase the ability of our children

Heyyaa,

I would miss it if it got dropped, as me and some people in my dance school find it really boring, and some people dont have dance partners!

Hi Sandra,

i am fully in support of rock and roll, if teachers took their qualification it would be very much supported. too much slowdance is killing the street and rock and roll sections. in a championship day rock and roll should be on the programme, the kids love dancing it and taking medals is another big boost to teachers revenues.

if you took rock and roll you would be depriving children who do this wonderful discipline the chance to promote this style (lindy hop is becomming big again )PLEASE do not destroy this style
