We are looking for a new hairstyle with our team for competitions this year. We did the faux hawk that could be put into a ponytail, bun or left down last year. This year our kids really want to do something different. Does any one have any suggestions?

Whatever you do, just NEVER EVER go to the braided pigtails in a bun on top the head. I think that is the UGLIEST hairstyle ever and I see it EVERYWHERE here. It seems to be popular but to me it just looks so unproffessional.

most of our comp teams keep it simple since they are generally in multiple numbers..usually parted on the left over the eye and slicked back into a ponytail. Simple but looks good because of the clean lines.

Side parted low bun...simple yes, but it works. There is too much going on at competition to worry about hair, and its really easy to keep it back the same way for everything.

I agree, my team does the low pony tail. We straighten the hair so it all looks the same then slick it down so it looks nice and clean. Very classy.

I'm a stickler for clean, crisp movement and hair is the same. My girls have a side part completely slicked down and in a straightened low ponytail. It is a very clean look.

I also like the clean look and have the side part with a bun...I really don't like all the loose hair, it looks so messy! Dance schools have the low ponytail and they look great but other dance schools try to copy and it looks like they just got out of the shower.lol
