I just started a job at a new studio and I am teaching a 3-4 yr old class and 5-7 yr old class. I am doing lion king's " I just can't wait to be king" and wanted to find the perfect costume. However, I am having a LOT of trouble finding a cute lion costume. If any one has suggestions or advice it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you.

I did this a few years ago and had the costumes made. They looked great. We had yellow body suits with yellow stretch pants over. We used gold and white streamers and tied them around a rubber band like fur. The girls had one on both arms and one at their ankles(the one on the ankles was longer). We also tied streamers around a head band for the hair.

I like the idea of using gold body suits & pants. It also might be cute build on this idea by creating lion's manes for the dancers. I've seen this done by having the dancers pull brown tutus half-way over their heads so that band forms a circle from the bottom of their chins to the top of their heads. The tutu frames their faces with a really poofy net mane.

If you're looking for an inexpensive kit to make a lion, I saw one in the Curtain Call catalog on page K114.
