This is an example of what belongs here and what doesn't:

I got all A's in school!

I finally moved up to champs!

I have my back catch!

I won first place in a poetry contest!

This is NOT what the achievements forum is for:

Just wanted to say congrats to my friend for winning first place!

Well done to The Dance Shop for being picked to dance on television next week.

Congrats to my dance teacher for winning best teacher of the year.

We will remove those kinds of posts. ^^ All of those examples belong on the congrats board. If you post here it must be done in first person...I did something. It cannot be about someone else's achievements.

Iwas going to post something about my daughters achievement here but decided to read this "Sticky" about posting first!!

Have the rules about posting in the first person changed? If so then could you please amend/update the sticky??

If not could you do something about the 12 posts on page 1 that are actually congrats posts? I would have modded them, but it was rather a large number :?

Thanks

It would seem that a lot of people are using this page as an outlet to praise someone for something outside of the dancing/freestyle genre.

This is what I thought it was originally, but after reading the sticky, I decided not to post here after all - because I was posting ABOUT my daughter and so NOT in the first person.

Would it be possible to allow BOTH instances - where you are either proud of something you have done (ie declaring it in the 1st person) or the achievement is something a little out of the ordinary - not just a result? :? like passing exams etc.

Thanks

If it is for someone else it should go on the congrats board. If they are 4 years old and do not post on their own, then you should use the congrats boards because that is what they are for. The congrats board does NOT just have to be for disco related events. We allow you to post about your children's exams or passing their driving test.

This board is reserved for people discussing their own accomplishments and we run it exactly how we do in the other forums such as ballet and jazz that have an achievements forum too.
