I am trying to put into perspective the benefits of learning and performing a Solo Routine.
Can anyone please give me some words of advise.
my brain is not working... lol
What I have so far.
The opportunity to grow and learn from performing a solo, It builds confidence, commitment, & courage.

Solo work provides the dancer with the opportunity to work one on one with the instructor to strengthen technique and improve skills. |

It's one on one attention from the instructor to you, which you don't get as much of in a classroom setting.
The dance is choreographed to suit your skills and abilities. You won't have steps in there that you haven't acheived yet, or that are below your skill level.
If it is a competitive routine, the critiques that are received from the judges are directly related to your dancing, not to someone in the group.
Also, as you already stated, it's great for improving confidence and performance technique. I don't think that solo's are good or a benefit for everyone. You have to be prepared to take it on as a challenge and have enough skill to make people want to watch it before it's really a benefit. |

I know that solos are not for everyone... but I really want to encourage the students to at least give it a try..
As you put.. It is one on one time... and this is vauluable time...
